The Lutheran Episcopal Advocacy Ministry of New Jersey (LEAMNJ) is organizing four buses to Washington, D.C. so that members of the Diocese of Newark, the Diocese of New Jersey and the New Jersey Synod of the Lutheran Church can join the March For Our Lives, a gun violence prevention march, on Saturday, March 24.
We are encouraging churches to send groups of interested youth, ages 13-17, with one adult chaperone for every one-to-five youth. Other interested adults are also welcome to participate as space allows.
Cost: $15.00 per youth (13-17) and $25.00 per adult (18+).
Bus locations: In our diocese, buses will depart from/return to Episcopal House in Newark and St. Luke's Church in Montclair.
To reserve your seat on one of the buses, you must do the following by Wednesday, March 21:
- Go to the LEAMNJ website to register and pay. Detailed information about bus registration is in the PDF attached below.
- Immediately send this same information to Kay Lark (email@example.com): name, email address, congregation name and town, est. # of adults and youth (age 13-17). Kay is collecting information on groups from the Diocese of Newark.
Questions about bus logistics should go to the Rev. Sara Lilja at firstname.lastname@example.org.
