Believing that God is inviting us into a new way of living together in the world, in March, 42 congregations gathered to begin a journey of listening to God through scripture, one another, our neighborhoods, and ourselves. In June, many of them returned to share what they had learned, the challenges they faced, and the joys they experienced.
A second Listening Excursion will begin in the fall. We invite you and your congregation to spend the morning of Saturday, September 30 exploring with fellow Episcopalians whether you are being called to join with other congregations who will be taking part.
At this event you will hear stories from participants of how listening brings us to a new and life-giving relationship with our neighbors. You will receive resources to learn how Dwelling in the Word creates space for the Spirit to open our imagination and helps us to form community based in scripture. You will also receive easy-to-understand concepts and tools for the journey into deeper listening to God, each other, and our neighbors.
Please bring your clergy person and at least two other people to this exploration.
All congregations in the Diocese of Newark are invited to this EXPLORATION to be held the morning of Saturday, September 30 at Episcopal House. Schedule for the morning:
- 8:30 AM - Gathering, registration and light breakfast
- 9 AM – Meeting begins
- Noon - Adjourn
The deadline to register is 12 noon on Thursday, September 21. Register online.
