Retreat Description from Rev. Dr. Phillips:

Our retreat this year will be led by the Reverend Canon Dr. Robert Phillips from the Diocese of Washington. A priest, Diocese Transition Officer and therapist. Canon Phillips has a wonderful and personal new book out about times of brokenness called “A Space for Grace: Paths from Brokenness to Beauty”. He will talk to us about brokenness in our lives, in the lives of our parishes and how we can use that to connect more deeply with God and transform our relationship with God as we face all kinds of change and loss in the time in which we live.

Accommodations

There are a number of private bathrooms on each floor of the main building, shared by both men and women. Please also be aware that the monastery observes Greater Silence each night (7:50 PM – immediately after Compline – until 8:30 AM).

Special Needs

For those with food restrictions, vegetarians and those who eat gluten-free can be accommodated with the standard fare; those with specific allergies are encouraged to bring any supplemental food (please label and put in the guest refrigerator near the coffee/tea area – a microwave is also available) – there is no price discount in any case.

Mobility Issues

They installed a new elevator; however, it may not be running for quite some time. If anyone has mobility issues and is not able to use the stairs this may be a problem. If requested, they can locate you on a lower floor. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

The deadline for your registration and our receipt of your check is Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The fee of $110 per person per night includes overnight accommodations and meals. 20 rooms are available. Order of registration determined by postmark date on payment envelope.

A limited number of scholarships are available – if interested, please contact Chloe Caprice at ccaprice@dioceseofnewark.org or 973-430-9976 before submitting payment.
