Due to the restrictions on gatherings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Anti-Sexism Training, scheduled for May 9th, has been canceled.
Anti-Sexism Training, required by the Diocese (see Canon 2.6 below, as revised at the 146th Annual Convention) is now available! Registration is now open for the Spring session.
Saturday, May 9, 8:30 AM - 4 PM – Episcopal House
Saturday, October 17th, 8:30 AM - 4 PM – Church of the Messiah, Chester
The training includes thoughtful discussion, interactive exercises, videos, and presentations. The format is a single day, with pre-work in the form of readings and surveys, and the responses at all the beta trainings, particularly the final version, were overwhelmingly positive! One of the two yearly offerings will be at Episcopal House, with the other being at a satellite location, to allow for easy access by those further away from Newark.
“No person shall be eligible for election to any office at Convention, nor shall any person elected by Districts, or appointed to serve on Diocesan Council or other Diocesan Standing Committees, Commissions or Boards accede to that office, unless that person shall have first completed or arranged for the completion of anti-racism dialogues and anti-sexism training as approved by the Bishop after consultation with the Diocesan bodies responsible for each training.”
(Diocesan Canon 2.6)
The fee is $25 per person, to help offset the cost of food. Scholarships are available on a limited basis by contacting the Rev. Diana Wilcox at email@example.com.
