Wednesdays Away (In-person): "Resurrected Wounds"

Wednesdays Away at Cross Roads
Wed, May 4 2022, 9:30am to 3:00pm

Wednesdays Away is a time of spiritual renewal hosted by Cross Roads Camp and Retreat Center. Time together includes prayer and conversation, led by a spiritual director and focusing on a different spiritual practice or theme each month. These monthly retreats are open to all people interested in exploring new faith practices. Attend one or attend all—and be sure to invite friends to join you.

Wednesdays Away in-person retreats are held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in person at Cross Roads (check-in will begin at 9:30 am). The cost is $50 per in-person gathering (includes lunch). Out of love for our community and in response to the current pandemic, participants must be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination as well as negative results from a COVID test taken within 72 hours of the event held from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Zoom.

The May retreat is led by Kayla Hopgood under the theme "Resurrected Wounds." Kayla describes this theme in this way: The resurrected Jesus is not without the wounds of the cross. In the Gospel of John, Jesus appears to the disciples, most famously Thomas, to show his wounds and to share words of peace and mercy. We will contemplate together the power of this passage while considering how resurrection transforms our own wounds today.
