Diocesan Musicians Conference: Tools for Ministry

All Diocesan Musicians are invited to our Diocesan Music Conference on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Grace Church, 4 Madison Ave, Madison, NJ 07940. Registration/continental breakfast will open at 8 a.m.

We will begin with Morning Prayer at 9:15 a.m. Bishop Mark Beckwith will be on hand to speak to us. Following the service and greetings from the Bishop, we will have a short keynote address from the Reverend Mack Brandon. Brandon is a professor of music at Ramapo College and leads the Ramapo Gospel Choir. He is also an ordained pastor in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and pastor of Metropolitan AME Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He has a wide and varied career in sacred and secular music, and formerly the music director of "The Drifters." This past summer he toured Senegal on a church music mission.

We will also have a short series of panels of followed by interest sessions designed to help us get to know one another as we share resources and ideas.

In addition there will be a large choral music give away (we have more than nine huge boxes of choral music) for all participants. We will finish the day at noon, just in time for folks to enjoy the rest of their Saturday.

We are asking each participant to contribute $10 to the cost of snacks, coffee, and the continental breakfast.
