
Rev. Lorraine Harris was ordained in 2000 and has served in many leadership positions, including serving as the Founder and Director of a senior citizen’s community food bank and extensive work in prison ministry.
Rev. Harris is an active and influential voice in her urban community as a spiritual leader and instructor of a comprehensive bible study course conducted at the Camden County Correctional Facility. She worked as a mentor for foster youth. She has served as a priest in Episcopal parishes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for the past 8 years, including time as a Deacon. She has also worked as a Chaplain at Magee Rehabilitation, Philadelphia, PA, United Methodist Homes, Collingswood, NJ, and Lighthouse Hospice, Cherry Hill, NJ. She is involved with “Faith in New Jersey” and has served as a co-facilitator of race conversations in the community of Collingswood, NJ.
Rev. Harris is looking forward to becoming more knowledgeable in the Diocese of Newark and to share her experiences. She brings strong enthusiasm and energy to her new home in this Diocese.
