The mission of NAMASTE in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark is to promote anti-racism dialogue. We create a safe space within which the transformation of individuals, congregations and the Church might begin, as a starting point in the life-long struggle to eliminate social oppression and establish full participation for all through shared decision-making and power that respects the dignity of every human being.
What we do:
Our programs are offered to the diocese, congregations, and groups that seek to guide God’s people through an interactive process that will increase their awareness and understanding of prejudice, social power, privilege and institutional and systemic racism.
We also provide resources, materials and guidance to those seeking a deeper understanding of racial issues or desiring to be allies in the work that we do.
