Bishop Hughes has asked the Rev. Deacon Ken Boccino to join the diocesan staff as our Interim Property Administrator. Ken’s experience in project management and his skills in organizing systems will be a great help in this role.
This position is the first step following Jim Caputo’s retirement to restructure his position, which had grown significantly in scope and expectations over the years. This new position is focused on administering the properties directly overseen by the Trustees, which includes closed church properties, the Bishop’s Residence, and the Diocesan Center. Ken will help coordinate maintenance and repairs for these sites and work with tenants as well, on behalf of the Trustees and the Bishop.
“I’m excited to join the team at the Diocesan Center,” Ken says, “and look forward to applying my professional and vocational experience to support the diocese’s properties, vision, and mission.”
Ken also is currently serving as Deacon at the Church of the Saviour in Denville. He is married to Nerissa, a warden at St. Peter’s, Morristown, and they have two grown children, Joshua and Alaina.
Another major component of Jim’s previous role, advising active churches and making recommendations on maintenance and repair, is still being redeveloped. In the meantime, parishes can still contact the diocesan office through Canon Wright for support in those areas.
