With sadness we share the news of the death of the Rev. Dr. Ronald Bruce Young, 66, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Beginning in 2007, Ron served as Lay Assistant at Saint Peter’s, Essex Fells, where he was responsible for Sunday school, youth programs, and adult education. He was ordained here in the Diocese of Newark to the Diaconate on May 18, 2013, and to the Priesthood on December 7, 2013.
From 2014 to 2024, Ron served at Christ Church in Pittsford, NY, in the Diocese of Rochester, first as Assistant Rector, then Priest in Charge, then Rector. Read his full obituary.
Ron is survived by his loving family Richard Larraga, Bruce Glenny, Margaret Angelini, The Rev. Canon Robert Picken, his goddaughter Katrina Neufeld, and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Christ Church, 36 S. Main Street, Pittsford, NY 14534. The service will also be livestreamed.

Good and gracious God, the light of the faithful and shepherd of souls, you sent your servant Ron to be a priest in your Church to feed your sheep with your word and to guide them by his example; give us the grace to keep the faith he taught and to follow in his footsteps. We entrust him into your unfailing mystery of Love and Hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
