Giving to the Episcopal Diocese of Newark

Your gift to the Episcopal Diocese of Newark will allow us to continue equip congregations, empower people and engage the world with the hope and justice of Jesus. We depend on your generosity to continue our important work. Read on to find out where your support is needed.

The Marge Christie Congregational Growth and Vitality Fund provides congregational missional funds for the support, strengthening, development and renewal of our congregations’ mission and ministry. The fund's Board seeks to challenge and support our congregations as they prayerfully reflect on how their existing and future projects and programs might deepen and strengthen the congregation’s missional identity. Grant applications from congregations throughout the Diocese of Newark will be received and considered on an annual basis.

Your gift to the Alleluia Fund supports outreach programs and ministries throughout the diocese and internationally, with special emphasis on programs with strong connections to the diocese addressing areas of food, shelter, education, and international outreach. Since its inception, the Alleluia Fund has awarded over $360,000 in grants. In 2012, over $145,000 was given to 25 ministries.

The Bishop’s Church Emergency Fund (BCEF) provides financial support for church buildings in the diocese needing repairs and renovation, usually with a special focus on emergency and unforeseen needs. Through the BCEF, you can support the critical needs identified by the Bishop.

Your unrestricted gift supports key strategic ministries of the Diocese of Newark and provides the greatest flexibility for the diocese to respond to critical issues, launch new initiatvies and help those in need.
