Evensong honoring Michael Francaviglia
Michael Francaviglia was hired as Director of Administration & Secretary of Convention with the Episcopal Diocese of Newark by Bishop John Shelby Spong, starting on September 1, 1990. After more than 22 years of service to the diocese under Bishops Spong, John Palmer Croneberger and Mark M. Beckwith, he is retiring on April 5, 2013.
When Michael announced his retirement last December, Bishop Beckwith said, "Michael is a diocesan icon. His competence and commitment are remarkable, but more than that are the life-giving relationships he has nurtured over the years. We give thanks for who he is and what he has done."
On Sunday, April 7 at 5 p.m., an Evensong will be held in Michael's honor at Trinity & St. Philip's Cathedral in Newark, followed by a reception at 24 Rector Street. Bow ties optional.
