In addition, he was the Assistant Secretary to the House of Bishops in 1958, co-founder of the Newark chapter of the National Episcopal Clergy Association and went on to serve as secretary of the National Network of Episcopal Clergy Associations 1970-1978.

Ivan is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean Partridge, four children and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diocese of Newark, 31 Mulberry Street, Newark, NJ 07102 will be divided equally between the Ward J. Herbert Fund and the Fund for Aged and Infirm Clergy.

Plans for a memorial are not yet finalized.

Good and gracious God, the light of the faithful and shepherd of souls, you sent your servant Ivan to be a priest in your Church to feed your sheep with your word and to guide them by his example; give us the grace to keep the faith he taught and to follow in his footsteps. We entrust him into your unfailing mystery of Love and Hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
