The Diocese of Newark exceeded its 2014 Alleluia Fund for Outreach fundraising goal by more than 13 percent. The collective generosity of 237 donors (32 congregations, 3 organizations, and 202 individuals) resulted in $113,365 in donations to the Alleluia Fund, a record total and record number of donors.

This year’s total is a 24 percent increase over last year’s collection and $2,365 greater than the previous high water mark of $111,000 which was achieved in the year of the fund’s inception, 2010. The donor total is a 34 percent increase over 2013 and 20 percent higher than the previous 2012 record of 198 donors.

Monies raised are distributed to hands-on ministries working to transform lives in our diocese and internationally. Key areas of support include food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, education for youth and adults, and international programs. (See the 2014 grant recipients.)

Thank you to our donors for their support, diocesan leadership for their commitment, and our ministry partners for the amazing work they do every day.
